Job summary

The Cleveland Metroparks is seeking a Server to ensure guests have a great dining experience at our facility. You will greet guests, take orders, suggest dishes and beverages, and coordinate with kitchen staff to meet guest needs.

Responsibilities include preparing tables, maintaining cleanliness, handling payments, and assisting with events while upholding safety and customer service standards. A high school diploma is preferred, age 19+, and ServSafe certification is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior serving experience is preferred.
• Must be age 19 or older.
• Must complete ServSafe program.
• Basic restaurant operation knowledge preferred.
• Excellent oral communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to read and/or understand labels.

• Prepares the tables, laying out napkins and utensils, making sure the condiments are refilled, performing all other preparation tasks.
• Stays updated on current menu choices, specialties and deviations, and informs guests about items.
• Provides excellent customer service including suggesting dishes and drinks and communicating needs to cooks.
• Maintains dining experience by delivering items, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses and offering desserts and drinks.
• Prepares non-alcohol drinks for service to customer table.
• Obtains payment for meals and adheres to cash handling procedures.
• Performs basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
• Assists with special events as needed.
• Provide guidance to guests on Cleveland Metroparks activities and regional information.
• Keeps supervisor informed of key issues or concerns.
• Performs duties safely and maintains a safe work environment.

Job description

The Server interacts with guests and ensures that they have a great experience when dining at the Cleveland Metroparks facility. The Server is responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner.

1. Prepares the tables, laying out napkins and utensils, making sure the condiments are refilled, performing all other preparation tasks.

5. Maintains proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering deserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
6. Prepares non-alcohol drinks for service to customer table.
7. Obtains payment for meals and adheres to all cash handling procedures.
8. Performs basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
9. Assists with special events as needed.
10. Provide guidance to guests on Cleveland Metroparks activities and other regional information.
11. Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns.
12. Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain a safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel.
