Job summary

Barrel One Collective is seeking a proactive Harpoon Beer Captain for its Boston Common pop-up. You will serve beer, provide a warm guest experience, and help create a vibrant, beer-forward atmosphere in an outdoor setting.

Ideal candidates are energetic, customer-focused, and able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Prior beer service experience and TIPS certification are a plus. This role offers a dynamic, outdoor work environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Engage with guests to share knowledge about Harpoon beers and food pairings.
• Pour beer and provide food service with enthusiasm and accuracy.
• Maintain a clean and organized outdoor pop-up space with safety in mind.
• Set up and break down the pop-up, moving kegs and operating draft equipment.
• Contribute to team efforts during events to ensure smooth service.
• Monitor the space to enforce ID checks and responsible alcohol service.

Servers and Bartenders are expected to be energetic, professional, and committed to delivering high-quality food and beverage service in a busy, beer-forward restaurant and brewery setting.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Harpoon Beer Captain, you'll be at the heart of our pop-up operations in Boston Common, serving up not just our craft beers but also a great atmosphere. This role is perfect for someone who loves being outdoors and engaging directly with customers. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Engaging with guests to share knowledge about Harpoon's beers and food offerings, making recommendations that enhance their experience.
• Handling beer pouring and basic food service with enthusiasm and accuracy, ensuring all guests feel welcomed and taken care of.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to health and safety standards, especially in a fast-paced outdoor setting.
• Managing the setup and breakdown of the pop-up space, including moving and changing kegs, and operating draft equipment.
• Contributing to team efforts during special events or peak times to ensure seamless service.
• Monitoring the space to ensure a safe and welcoming environment, including checking IDs, enforcing alcohol service standards, and proactively addressing any safety or security concerns.

• You possess or are willing to obtain TIPS certification
• You are physically able to lift 50 pounds to shoulder height occasionally and stand for prolonged periods.
• Your schedule is flexible, able to accommodate evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts.
• You thrive in dynamic environments and are capable of bending, stooping, reaching, and moving quickly as required.
• You have a genuine passion for craft beer and hospitality
