Luminary Hotel & Co. in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a friendly Server Assistant to support front-of-house teams and ensure consistently excellent guest service.

You will help with table maintenance, order delivery, and dining area cleanliness in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates have high school education, hospitality experience, and strong communication skills, with comfort using tablets for order entry and service.

Responsibilities

• Serves guests in an efficient, courteous manner following the steps of service.
• Sets tables, serves food orders, and removes used plates/ware.
• Light food running when applicable; able to carry warm/hot plates.
• Communicates with manager/supervisor to avoid impacting guest experience.
• Polishes glassware, utensils, and maintains clean linen and dining areas.
• Follows In Room Dining procedures as needed and coordinates room orders.
• Performs other duties as requested by management.

Servers Assistant is responsible for ensuring exceptional service to all guests that is consistent and continually in accordance with the Luminary Hotel & Co. service standards and standards of Mainsail Lodging & Development. Server Assistant supports front of the house service staff to ensure all areas function effectively. Responsible for general table maintenance and cleanliness of the restaurant in accordance to specification, in a courteous and efficient manner.

Essential Functions

• Serves guests in an efficient courteous manner following the proper steps of service
• Responsible for setting tables, serving food orders and removing used plate ware and utensils
• Light food running when applicable, ability to carry plates that may be warm or hot
• Ability to handle station, or when situations arise, ability to let manager/supervisor know ahead of time so as not to affect the guest experience
• Polish glass ware, utensils, organize clean and soiled linen
• Perform other duties as management requests to service our guests
• Follow and complete procedures as they relate to In Room Dining (IRD), as needed
• Organize items and needs to be brought to room based on order, as needed
• Any other duties as requested by management

Qualification Standards

Education & Experience

• High School diploma or higher
• Previous hospitality experience required
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to use technology e.g. tablets, iPads
