Position Summary
The Busser/Attendant/Server Assistant is responsible for maintaining a clean dining area and bussing tables in an efficient, courteous, and accurate manner. The role supports the bar, lounge, dining room, private party areas, and beverage storage areas to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain service area assignment(s) at the beginning of each shift.
- Promptly greet guests as they are seated and bring water to each table.
- Remove used tableware between courses and provide fresh tableware for the next course.
- Clear tables after guests leave, taking tableware to the dish room and placing silverware, dishes, glassware, etc., in appropriate areas for washing.
- Clean table tops, chairs, booths, and the floor as required; reset and arrange tabletop for the next seating.
- Respond appropriately to guest requests and communicate them to servers as needed.
- Coordinate with servers and hostesses to assure efficient seating, table utilization, and customer service.
- Assist servers with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods.
- Thank guests as they leave.
- Provide assistance as directed by the restaurant manager or supervisor to ensure smooth operation.
- Wash dishes in the absence of the dishwasher and/or as directed by servers and managers.
- Adhere to legal standards and TIPS alcohol training guidelines for alcohol service to guests.
- Demonstrate 100% guest satisfaction by providing genuine hospitality and teamwork, listening, apologizing with empathy, and resolving guest problems effectively.
Requirements & Skills
- Experience in a similar position within an upscale restaurant environment preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to effectively communicate with department managers, team members, and guests.
- Ability to retain and provide general hotel information.

Physical Demands
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Use proper lifting techniques to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Move throughout the hotel (standing, walking, kneeling, and bending) for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity, hand‑eye coordination, and ability to work with hands above shoulders.
- Tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment.
- Lift up to 50 pounds regularly, and push or pull objects up to 100 pounds.
- Work under variable temperature conditions and multitask.
Work Schedule
The hotel operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All associates must recognize that at all times it may be necessary to move from their assigned shift and alter duties to meet business demands.
