Job summary

Cliff House Maine in Cape Neddick, ME is seeking an entry-level team member to learn the fundamentals of restaurant operations in a fast-paced, elevated dining environment. You will support the serving staff, ensure prompt service and help maintain dining room cleanliness to guarantee guest satisfaction.

Pay is $8 per hour plus tips. This full-time, year-round role includes comprehensive benefits and opportunities to grow from Busser or Server Assistant toward server or bartender

Qualifications

• Flexibility with work days and hours is required.
• Experience in service is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with restaurant terminology and food service techniques is expected.
• Ability to engage guests and provide positive interactions.
• Clear spoken and written English communication is essential.
• Willingness to develop toward server or bartender roles.

Responsibilities

• Proactively supports the restaurant team by clearing tableware, napkins and refuse from tables.
• Ensure restaurant cleanliness by wiping down tables and chairs, and clears debris from floor and surrounding area.
• Deliver prompt service by resetting tables in a timely matter.
• Proactively support the restaurant team while monitoring dining room activity.
• Collaborate with team members to communicate any special needs or guest requests.
• Utilize the freedom to go beyond and take initiative to resolve guest complaints and create loyalty.

• Experience. Previous work or volunteer experience passionately providing service to others preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge. Familiarity of restaurant terminology and food service techniques required.
• People Person. The best part of serving others is creating experiences for them that go beyond the expected.
• Great communicator. Providing amazing experiences requires the ability to communicate fluently in English both verbally and through legible writing.
