The Darcy Hotel in Washington, DC is seeking a Server Assistant / Busperson to support the restaurant team and deliver exceptional guest experiences. This role assists with clearing and resetting tables, stocking stations, and serving beverages while maintaining a welcoming dining environment.

Candidates should have knowledge of table settings, be able to lift up to 50 pounds and push up to 150 pounds, and hold TIPS and ServSafe certifications.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of proper table settings and serviceware.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
• Ability to move items weighing up to 150 pounds with handcart or assistance.
• TIPS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Clear used table settings quickly and prepare tables for resetting.
• Reset tables promptly with appropriate serviceware.
• Keep service stations clean, organized, and stocked.
• Serve beverages, bread, and butter; replenish items as needed.
• Transport used tableware to dishwasher area for cleaning.
• Maintain regular, reliable attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Support the Restaurant Supervisor/Manager and Restaurant Servers in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming dining environment while providing attentive and exceptional guest service.

Key Responsibilities

• Quickly clear used table settings and prepare tables for resetting.
• Promptly and consistently reset tables with the appropriate serviceware.
• Keep service stations clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies, including silverware, linens, and condiments, for all meal periods.
• Serve beverages, bread, and butter, and replenish items as needed throughout the dining experience.
• Transport used tableware from the dining room to the dishwashing area for cleaning.
• Follow attendance policies and maintain regular, reliable attendance.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

• Knowledge of proper table settings and serviceware.
• Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or otherwise transport items weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to move or push goods weighing up to 150 pounds using a handcart or hand truck, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• TIPS certification.
• ServSafe certification.
• Ability to communicate in English.

Compensation and Job Classification

• Pay Rate: $12.00–$12.50 per hour
• Employment Type: Full-time
