The Darcy Hotel Washington DC is seeking a Restaurant Server to join a polished team on Rhode Island Ave NW. The role focuses on delivering food and beverages, taking orders, and providing warm hospitality to guests in a fast-paced environment.

Qualified applicants will read and write English, have strong communication skills, and may hold TIPs and ServeSafe certifications. This is a full-time hourly position with competitive benefits and a supportive team culture.

Position Summary:
Effectively promote, take and deliver food and beverage orders.

Job Description

• Accurately and quickly take and place all food orders with the kitchen, according to the prescribed procedure.
• Answer all questions about cooking methods, menu items, specials and prices of all items.
• Prepare and deliver beverage and dessert orders.
• Check food to ascertain that appearance, temperature and portions are correct and deliver food orders in a timely fashion.
• Prepare the guest check accurately and present it to the guest before their departure.
• Collect payment from the guest.
• Clean, clear and reset dining room tables.
• Assist in seating and greeting the guest.
• Clean and restock service items
• Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

Physical Job Requirements

• Lifting of food trays up to 40 lbs.
• Pushing Queen Marys up to 100 lbs.
• Bending to lift food trays up to 40 lbs.
• Continually moving at a fast pace.
• Climbing Stairs: Up to approx. 3 steps for 50% of 6-8 hour shift
• Work Environment: Inside=95% of 6-8 hour shift and outside=5% of 6-8 hour shift

Experience, Skills and Knowledge

• Ability to read and write English
• One (1) year server experience helpful but not required
• Communication and hospitality skills (English required)
• Ability to work Micros computer system
• TIPs certification
• ServeSafe certification

Compensation/Job Classification

• $12.00 – 13.50
• Full-Time Position
• Hourly
