Note: This is a tipped position. Pay is the NYC minimum for tipped employees ($11/hr. plus $5.50/hr. tip credit, when applicable) plus tips.

As a server assistant at Next Door by Wegmans, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service by supporting the front of house team. You’ll ensure seamless communication between the kitchen and servers, helping deliver orders promptly while maintaining food quality. By assisting servers and expediters, you’ll help create a flawless dining experience, ensuring every guest leaves with a reason to return.

What will I do?

1. Prepare items necessary for seamless service, including polishing glassware and silverware, restocking supplies, and preparing water for servers.
2. Assist the server team as needed to meet guest needs while enabling servers to focus on guest interactions.
3. Deliver dishes to guests' tables promptly, maintaining food integrity and timeliness.
4. Ensure a positive guest experience by maintaining attentive, courteous, and efficient service, fostering a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
5. Prepare the dining room and bars for service by ensuring cleanliness, organization, and proper stock levels.
6. Maintain awareness of front and back of house activities to provide proactive assistance.
7. Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks as per checklists, completing them efficiently.
8. Stay informed about menu changes and participate in beverage classes to enhance food and beverage knowledge.
9. Learn about special events and general restaurant operations to support additional tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of service experience in a restaurant or similar setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Customer service experience in the hospitality industry.
