Job summary

Kirkwood in Houston is seeking motivated Server Assistants to thrive in a fast-paced upscale setting. Join a new restaurant opening and contribute to exceptional hospitality, teamwork, and world-class service.

Compensation includes benefits such as Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), PTO, plus growth opportunities and on-demand pay through ZayZoon. Must have Food Handler and State Alcohol Server certificates; bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience as Server Assistant or Busser in upscale dining.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Preferred bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and some holidays.
• Flexible schedule helpful.
• Food Handler Certificate required.
• Alcohol Server Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Promptly clear and reset tables per service standards.
• Assist servers by delivering water, bread, condiments and other items.
• Support dining room pacing to ensure efficient table turns.
• Maintain cleanliness of service stations, dining areas and restrooms.
• Polish silverware and glassware; restock side stations as needed.
• Communicate clearly with servers, hosts and kitchen staff.
• Provide guests with a warm, friendly presence.
• Handle glassware and dishware with care to avoid breakage.
• Adhere to sanitation, safety and hygiene standards.
• Assist with floor setups, closing duties and occasional food running.
• Support team members and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
• Attend meetings and complete training.
• Maintain uniform standards and professionalism.
• Adhere to a reliable work schedule and safety duties.

What We Are Looking For

• Previous experience as Server Assistant or Busser, preferably in upscale or fine dining.

• Assist with floor setups, closing duties, and occasional food running as directed.
• Support team members and contribute to a positive, respectful workplace culture.
• Attend mandatory meetings and complete company-assigned training.
• Maintain uniform standards and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
• Adhere to a reliable work schedule and perform duties safely.
