Job summary

Montauk Lodge in Montauk State Park seeks a cheerful server for a seasonal role from now through October 2024. You will take guest orders, relay them to the kitchen via POS, deliver meals and drinks, and support bussing and other front-of-house tasks.

Candidates should have at least 1 year in a restaurant, hold a High school diploma or equivalent, and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen. ServSafe certification is preferred and reliable customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year in a restaurant establishment.
• ServSafe Certification required.
• Pre-employment drug screening is required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately take orders from guests, submit to kitchen using POS, deliver food and drinks, bus tables or assist busser/runner
• Knowledge of restaurant and bar menu promotions and specials
• In an honest and timely manner, prepare checks, process credit cards, accept and make accurate change for cash payments
• Ensure alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages are served in accordance with Federal, State, Local regulations and Company procedures
• Provide timely, courteous service to all guests throughout the meal service
• Set tables, polish glasses, prepare workstations and other side work as assigned
• Accurately prepare sales and tip reports at shift’s end, deposit cash and credit card receipts
• Complete other front of house duties such as host, and busser- food runner as needed to meet business requirements
• Other duties may be assigned

This is a seasonal role with an estimated end date in October 2024.

Position Requirements:

• Obtain ServSafe Certification in accordance with Company F&B policy
• Excellent customer service and people skills
• Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, holiday shifts
• Must have excellent communication skills and be able to count change and reconcile paperwork
• Majority of shift will be spent on feet in a fast-paced environment, in close proximity to other people
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening

Knowledge and Experience

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: Minimum (1) year in a restaurant establishment

National Park/Resort experience
