Job summary

Yardbird Dallas is seeking a friendly, attentive server to join our team. The candidate will ensure guests have a memorable dining experience by providing exceptional service and accurate order-taking.

Responsibility includes greeting guests, presenting menus, and delivering food and beverages with precision. Preferred are at least 2 years of experience in a high-volume upscale setting, a high school diploma, and relevant alcohol service certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Food Server in a high volume, upscale dining environment.
• Alcohol, beer and wine service certifications such as Court of Master Sommeliers, Certified Beer Server, Bar Smarts, WSET, etc. are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and warmly, ensuring they feel welcomed.
• Present menus, answer questions, and provide recommendations on menu items, daily specials, and beverages.
• Take accurate orders, input them into the POS, and communicate any special requests to the kitchen.
• Monitor tables to ensure satisfaction and handle additional requests promptly.
• Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines; keep tables clean and reset as needed.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Greet guests promptly and warmly, ensuring they feel welcomed.
• Present menus, answer questions, and provide recommendations on menu items, daily specials, and beverages.
• Ensure guests’ dining experience is enjoyable by addressing their needs and concerns promptly.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders, input them into the POS system, and communicate any special requests to the kitchen.
• Monitor tables throughout the meal to ensure satisfaction and respond to additional requests.
• Input all individual orders into the POS in accordance to guest position numbers and never “auctions” food upon delivery.
• Properly serves all dishes with clear and concise verbiage and places each dish properly in front of the guests.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
• Set up and clear tables efficiently, including removing used dishes, resetting tables, and maintaining cleanliness.
• Assist with pre-service and post-service duties, such as restocking supplies and polishing glassware.
• Adhere to Company policies regarding alcohol service and verify identification when necessary.
• Able to work flexible hours, including off hours, weekends and holidays.

Preferred:

• At least 2 years of experience as a Food Server in a high volume, upscale dining environment
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Alcohol, beer and wine service certifications including but not limited to Court of Master Sommeliers, Certified Beer Server, Bar Smarts, WSET, etc.
