Job summary

Yardbird Group is seeking a friendly, attentive Server to join our team. You will ensure guests have a memorable dining experience by taking accurate orders, delivering food and beverages promptly, and providing exceptional service.

This role requires a guest-focused approach and adherence to safety standards in a busy, upscale environment. We value strong communication, teamwork, and reliability, with a willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Guest-focused service experience preferred.
• Ability to take accurate orders and use a POS.
• Uphold health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and warmly, ensuring they feel welcomed.
• Present menus, answer questions, and provide recommendations on menu items, daily specials, and beverages.
• Ensure guests’ dining experience is enjoyable by addressing their needs and concerns promptly.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders, input them into the POS system, and communicate any special requests to the kitchen.
• Monitor tables throughout the meal to ensure satisfaction and respond to additional requests.
• Input all individual orders into the POS in accordance to guest position numbers and never “auctions” food upon delivery.
• Properly serves all dishes with clear and concise verbiage and places each dish properly in front of the guests.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
• Set up and clear tables efficiently, including removing used dishes, resetting tables, and maintaining cleanliness.
• Assist with pre-service and post-service duties, such as restocking supplies and polishing glassware.
• Adhere to Company policies regarding alcohol service and verify identification when necessary.
• Able to work flexible hours, including off hours, weekends and holidays.

Preferred

• At least 2 years of experience as a Food Server in a high volume, upscale dining environment
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Alcohol, beer and wine service certifications including but not limited to Court of Master Sommeliers, Certified Beer Server, Bar Smarts, WSET, etc.
