The New York City Department of Social Services (DSS) seeks a Supervising Special Officer-I to act as a Sergeant overseeing the safety of staff and visitors at HRA locations across the five boroughs. You will supervise Special Officers, conduct roll calls, and ensure security, training, and post coverage.

Qualified candidates hold a high school diploma, Peace Officer certification, and experience in law enforcement or security with supervisory duties; NYS certification must be maintained for the

• A four-year high school diploma or equivalent and one year of full-time experience in law enforcement, protection or security.
• Must satisfy the training requirements for Peace Officers and obtain certification in New York State.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise Special Officers and staff performance.
• Conduct roll calls and inspect posts and work areas.
• Oversee arrests and assist in the arrest process; appear in court if required.
• Ensure highest level of security at assigned locations; prepare schedules and supervise contract guards.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with other law enforcement as needed.
• Investigate security incidents and prepare reports; develop action plans to address incidents.
