Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver's license.
• Current Virginia DCJS Certification; mandated training for Correctional Officers.
• Strong organization, planning and supervisory abilities; written and oral communication.
• Working knowledge of security equipment including firearms and radios.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Institutional Training Officer in planning, organizing, and delivering training programs for employees.
• Communicate with management, staff, visitors, inmates, and the public; supervise staff on assigned shifts.
• Provide first line supervision to Corrections Officers and Trainees in an institutional setting.
• Maintain a safe and productive workforce and ensure a secure environment.
