Job summary

Mosaic Biosciences seeks an Associate Scientist I-II to join the Antibody Discovery & Optimization team in Boulder, CO. The role focuses on hands-on molecular biology, sample prep for sequencing, and supporting automation-driven lab operations in a fast-paced, high-throughput setting.

The ideal candidate has hands-on PCR/qPCR and DNA purification experience and will progress toward increased independence, with exposure to sequencing data analysis and ELN/LIMS workflows.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Genetics.
• Associate Scientist I: 0–2 years of relevant lab experience; Associate Scientist II: 2+ years with BS or MS.
• Hands-on experience with PCR, qPCR and DNA purification.
• Experience analyzing sequencing data (Sanger or NGS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine molecular biology techniques including PCR, DNA purification, library preparation, cloning, and nucleic acid quantification from various sample types.
• Execute high-throughput sample preparation workflows for Sanger, Illumina, and long-read sequencing.
• Track samples throughout workflows with strong organization and documentation.
• Prepare reagents, master mixes, and consumables for daily operations.
• Analyze QC data and identify potential issues before downstream processing.
• Maintain ELNs and LIMS records with accuracy and traceability.
• Assist with inventory management and lab organization.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying bottlenecks and implementing changes.
• Collaborate with sequencing, antibody discovery, and protein engineering teams to meet project timelines.
• Follow procedures and quality standards to deliver high-quality data.
