Job summary

Soils, Inc. in Virginia is seeking a Septic Installer II to perform advanced installation tasks and help train junior staff. You will lay pipes, operate grade poles and skid steers, and ensure work aligns with project plans and safety regulations.

This role builds on Septic Installer 1 experience and offers opportunities for growth toward Septic Installer 3 while mentoring teammates and supporting field operations in varied weather and site conditions.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• 1–2 years of septic install experience.
• Willingness to mentor others.
• Experience operating skid steers.
• Ability to follow project plans and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a valid driver’s license and comply with all safety regulations.
• Perform all duties of a Septic Installer 1.
• Lay pipes according to project plans and regulatory standards, using the appropriate pipe types and connectors
• Operate the grade pole to ensure proper system alignment and installation.
• Operate a skid steer to transport and distribute stone to ditches and installation sites.
• Assist in training and mentoring Septic Installer 1 team members.
• Develop skills and knowledge to progress toward the responsibilities of a Septic Installer 3.

Job description

The Septic Installer is responsible for installing septic systems in accordance with project plans, safety regulations, and company standards. This role builds upon the skills of a Septic Installer 1 and contributes to the team by performing advanced installation tasks and assisting in training junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a valid driver’s license and comply with all safety regulations.
• Perform all duties of a Septic Installer 1
• Lay pipes according to project plans and regulatory standards, using the appropriate pipe types and connectors
• Operate the grade pole to ensure proper system alignment and installation.
• Operate a skid steer to transport and distribute stone to ditches and installation sites

Additional Responsibilities

• Assist in training and mentoring Septic Installer 1 team members
• Develop skills and knowledge to progress toward the responsibilities of a Septic Installer 3

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license
• 1-2 years of septic install experience
• Previous experience in septic system installation preferred
• Ability to operate construction equipment such as skid steers
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical plans and instructions
• Team-oriented with willingness to mentor and support colleagues

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions
