Job summary

Travis Creech Plumbing & Septic is seeking a Septic Technician to service residential and commercial septic systems. The role requires self-motivation, a clean appearance, a positive attitude, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair septic components.

A NC driver’s license, drug testing, and background checks are required. Responsibilities include locating systems, laying out pipes, installing or repairing drainage, and assisting with installations.

Qualifications

• Septic system knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and repair.
• Willingness to learn septic installation process.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to follow state regulations, standards, and codes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze plans and permits to locate septic tank and drain pipes.
• Check slopes for conformance using levels or lasers.
• Cover pipes with dirt or other materials.
• Lay out pipe routes and coordinate layouts with supervisors.
• Connect pipe pieces and seal joints.
• Install or repair residential or commercial drainage systems.
• Use lasers or grade rods to install septic systems.
• Grade trench bases with tamping tools.
• Dig trenches to required depths.
• Locate existing pipes needing repair or replacement.
• Perform job site calculations.
• Pump and repair septic systems and grease traps.
• Assist pump truck operations.
• Support plumbing jobs related to septic components.
• All other duties assigned.

Job Overview

Septic Technician needed to accommodate residential and commercial septic system service. Qualified applicants must be self motivated, clean, neat, and have a positive attitude. Applicants must additionally be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and make proper repairs to all aspects of the septic system. Applicants must also be willing to learn the septic system installation process and assist septic installer with installations. NC drivers license is required along with drug testing and background checks.

• Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers
• Cover pipes with dirt or other materials
• Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or plans and coordinatinglayouts
• Connect pipe pieces and seal joints
• Install or repair residential or commercial drainage systems
• Use instruments such as lasers or grade rods to successfully install septic systems
• Grade or level trench bases, using tamping machines or hand tools
• Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or plans and coordinatinglayouts with supervisors
• Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools
• Locate existing pipes needing repair or replacement, using locating devices
• Perform calculations necessary for completing a job
  
• Pump and repair septic systems and grease traps
• Assisting on pump truck, locating, digging up, and pumping septic systems and grease traps
• Acting as a helper on plumbing jobs, assisting in the repair of septic components
• All other duties assigned

Qualifications

• Must be comfortable asking and taking customer payments if necessary
  
• Some understanding of Septic systems, materials, tools and equipment
• Working knowledge of state regulations, standards, and codes regarding septic work
• Ability to communicate well with customers and team members
• Manage detailed reports of work done on job sites to ensure successful and adequate installations or repairs performed
