Summary

Systems Engineering Manager 2 – Senior leadership role in the Aerospace Vehicle and Systems Integration (AVSI) division, Mission Effectiveness and Thread Lead (METL) department. Based in Roy, Utah; 100% on‑site. Oversees a Systems Engineering team of up to 15 engineers and drives technical program work for the Sentinel Program.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall functional oversight and leadership for the Systems Engineering group.
• Manage administrative activities, performance reviews, and career development of team members.
• Allocate approximately 80% of time to program‑level work, including system architecture, requirements development, verification planning, system design, modeling & simulation, MBD, IPT/product owner leadership, and specialty engineering.
• Allocate approximately 20% of time to organization support functions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external stakeholders to deliver mission‑critical outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a STEM field with at least 8 years of related experience, or Master’s degree with at least 6 years of related experience.
• U.S. citizenship with an active U.S. Government Secret clearance (investigation completed within the last 6 years). Current Sentinel Special Access Program (SAP) approval required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with Agile, JIRA, Confluence, DOORS or Cameo.
• Strong management and communication skills, with a track record of motivating and developing teams.
• Demonstrated commitment to ethics, integrity, and innovative thinking.
• Proven ability to mentor, coach, and build inclusive, high‑engagement teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Earned‑Value Management (EVM) training.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Understanding of Sentinel program ROM, BCR, and BOE efforts.
• Experience with TMRR Cost and Schedule packages exceeding $100M and advising TMRR Lead.
• Solid knowledge of Systems Engineering, Integration, Test processes on the Sentinel Program with emphasis on interfaces.
• Strong customer‑facing engagement and ability to present complex concepts clearly.
• Ability to define and refine execution criteria for TMRR Major Program Events (MPEs) and drive cost and schedule alignment.
• 3+ years’ experience leading projects and driving performance against schedule.

Compensation

Primary salary range: $139,100.00 – $208,700.00. Base pay may be adjusted based on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may be available. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results; VP/Director levels may qualify for long‑term incentives.
