Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Roy, Utah, is hiring a Staff Systems Engineer (level 5) to join the Sentinel program, supporting ICBM launch systems and related facilities.

You will develop requirements, define architecture with Cameo MBSE, perform verification and traceability, collaborate with IPTs, and contribute to system engineering, design artifacts, and interface documentation. A Secret clearance is required; travel about 10% may be necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field required.
  • U.S. citizen with active DoD Secret clearance at time of application.
  • Experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo and architecture modeling.
  • Experience with DOORS for requirements management.
  • Experience with SEIT processes and agile tools.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with program IPT to develop systems engineering artifacts.
  • Mature architecture content for large designs with technical teams and stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage system requirements and allocation in the model.
  • Create systems architecture using Cameo MBSE (behavioral, structural, analytical).
  • Support requirements management, verification, and traceability.
  • Develop modeling techniques, procedures, and integration processes.

Description

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is hiring a Staff Systems Engineer (level 5) to join its team in Roy, Utah, supporting the Sentinel program. The Sentinel program focuses on the sustainment, development, production, and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

Responsibilities

The Sentinel program has an exciting opportunity for a Staff Systems Engineer to support activities including use case development, requirements definition and allocation, functional decomposition, interface definition, verification and validation, and requirements traceability.

  • Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts.
  • Work with both technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature architecture content of large program designs.
  • Help develop and incorporate the appropriate requirements for the system and ensure that they are properly represented in the model.
  • Develop systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, analytical).
  • Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis.
  • Develop unifying model techniques, procedures, and processes (for model development, tool integration, and team integration).
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with 12 years of experience; 10 years of experience with a master’s degree; or 8 years with PhD.
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
  • 1+ years of experience managing requirements in DOORS.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Systems Engineering and Integration and Test (SEIT) processes.
  • 3+ years of experience working with MBSE tools (Cameo).
  • 1+ year of experience with Agile methodologies and tools (JIRA/Confluence).
  • 1+ years of experience supporting trades studies.
  • 3+ years of experience with one or more of the following: C2, physical security, cybersecurity, communications systems, facility design, military aerospace development.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
  • Understanding of the Systems Engineering V-Model.
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS.
  • Experience in SysML or UPDM modeling languages.
  • Proficiency with the DoDAF, UAF, or other modeling frameworks.
  • Experience modeling with Cameo Enterprise Architecture, MagicDraw (No Magic, Inc.) or other architecture modeling tools.
  • Experience using tools to model large systems with multiple developers.
  • Experience exporting documentation out of a model-based environment.
  • Experience in Software and/or Hardware design.
  • Experience in documenting Interface Control Documents, Interface Requirement Specifications, and Interface Description Documents.
  • Experience with software defined hardware structures (i.e., software defined radars and field programmable gate arrays).
  • Experience with modeling and simulation programs such as the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling (AFSIM).
  • Experience with applying hypervisors, cross-domain solutions, multi-level security systems, or modular open systems approach to integrated systems.
  • Experience with scripting and coding languages such as Python.
  • Experience with Agile Development.
  • Experience with ICBM weapon system sustainment engineering and integration.
  • Experience with complex system development on large programs.

Standard work schedule is 9/80 (nine-hour days Monday through Thursday, every other Friday off).

Salary

Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00. The range is a guideline and may be adjusted based on factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills and market conditions.
