Northrop Grumman Defense has an opening for a Systems Engineer (level2) / Principal Systems Engineer (level3) to join its Guidance Computer team in Roy, UT in support of the Sentinel Program.

Clearance Required
Secret clearance required at start, with ability to obtain Top‑Secret and Special Access Program (SAP) approval.
Responsibilities
- Perform design trade study implementation.
- Design and develop key capabilities and performance requirements for the Guidance Computer (GC).
- Define design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with Customer specifications.
- Develop thorough definition of system external interfaces.
- Define system implementation approach and operational concept.
- Ensure Customer requirements are met.
- Evaluate system performance with Customer.
- Demonstrate technical skills and organization.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity.
- Act as an effective communicator and problem‑solver, maintaining good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Operate in a team environment and collaborate across the program as required to accomplish tasks.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 2years of experience (or 0years for master’s degree).
- Active DoD Secret clearance at application, with ability to obtain Top‑Secret.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period.
- 1year of experience with electronics design and verification.
- 1year of experience defining hardware‑software and hardware‑hardware interfaces.
- 1year of experience working trade studies.
- 1year of experience reading electrical drawings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Mature requirements definition experience, including definition of verification plans.
- Experience with engineering requirements management tools such as DOORS.
- Experience working on an agile team.
- Understanding of nuclear surety, cybersecurity, and flight safety.
- Strong experience in systems engineering across multiple integration levels for a DoD/Aerospace program.
- Experience with Critical Design Review planning and/or execution.
- Experience as a stakeholder alongside hardware, software, and firmware development to keep designs aligned to the requirements baseline.

Salary
Primary Level: $79,300.00–$118,900.00. Secondary Level: $98,400.00–$147,600.00. Salary may vary based on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, and skills.
