Northrop Grumman is hiring a Systems Engineer (level 2) / Principal Systems Engineer (level 3) to join its team in Roy, Utah or Huntsville, AL and will support the Sentinel Program.
Responsibilities
- Support activities including use case development, requirements definition/allocation, functional decomposition, interface definition, verification & validation, and requirements traceability.
- Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts.
- Work with both technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature architecture content of large programs design.
- Help develop and incorporate the appropriate requirements for the system and ensure that they are properly represented in the model.
- Develop systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, analytical).
- Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis.
Basic Qualifications
Level 2
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 2 years of applicable engineering experience.
- Master’s degree and 0 years of experience (equivalent).
- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher at the time of application.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period.
- 1+ year of experience developing or reviewing requirements within DOORS or similar tool.
- 1+ year of experience in ICBM (MMIII or Sentinel) or complex aerospace/defense systems.
Level 3
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 5 years of related engineering experience, 3 with a master’s, 1 with a PhD.
- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher at the time of application.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval within a reasonable period.
- 2 years of experience developing or reviewing requirements within DOORS or similar tool.
- 2 years of experience in ICBM (MMIII or Sentinel) or complex aerospace/defense systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of the Systems Engineering V-Model.
- Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS.
- Experience in SysML or UPDM modeling languages.
- Proficiency with the DoDAF, UAF, or other modeling frameworks.
- Experience modeling with Cameo Enterprise Architecture, MagicDraw (No Magic, Inc.) or other architecture modeling tools.
- Experience using tools to model large systems with multiple developers.
- Experience in Software and/or Hardware design.
- Experience documenting Interface Control Documents, Interface Requirement Specifications, and Interface Description Documents.
- Experience in the military aerospace development environment.
- Experience with weapon systems.
- Experience exporting documentation out of a model‑based environment.
- Experience with Agile Development.
- Experience with ICBM weapon system sustainment engineering and integration.
- Experience with complex system development on large programs.

This position’s standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine‑hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 – $118,900.00. Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 – $147,600.00.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
