Northrop Grumman is seeking a Structural Engineer to support the Sentinel program based in Manhattan Beach, CA (or Roy, UT). The role involves analyzing metals, composites and non-metallic materials, developing engineering specifications and applying tools like CATIA, ABAQUS and ANSYS to ensure safety and performance of critical systems.

The position requires US citizenship with DoD Secret clearance (SAP possible) and offers a robust benefits package plus relocation assistance where applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years of experience
• Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 0 years of experience
• Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 5 years
• U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
• Experience running dynamic and/or static analysis
• Experience in ABAQUS, ANSYS, FEMAP (w/Nastran)
• Experience in programming and use of MATLAB (or equivalent) for analysis and data manipulation

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs.
• Tools utilized may include CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer and a variety of software applications.
• The Sentinel Infrastructure Analysis Team oversees design/analysis of facilities and related subsystems for future upgrades.
• Includes dynamics, loads, stability, stress fatigue and thermal analysis.
