Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an experienced Launch Execution Systems Engineering Manager to lead the CS HW Launch Ex team for the Sentinel program in the Command Systems Hardware unit. You will oversee lifecycle stages from concept to launch, ensure high quality launch control systems, and guide cross-functional teams through requirements, design, and testing.

The role requires an Active Secret clearance, MBSE expertise, and strong program management with Agile practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in STEM with 8+ years of related experience, or Master's with 6+ years.
• Active U.S. Government Secret clearance at time of application, current within scope (<6 years).
• Ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval.
• Experience with EVMS/CAM.
• Project management experience and Agile methodology.

Role Overview

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an experienced Launch Execution Systems Engineering Manager to support the Sentinel program in the Command Systems Hardware organizational unit. The role involves overseeing the entire product lifecycle, managing teams, and ensuring the development of high‑quality launch control systems for Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the CS HW Launch Ex team, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance culture.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including product management, design, and quality assurance, to define product requirements and specifications.
• Develop and implement engineering processes and standards to enhance product quality and efficiency.
• Oversee the design, development, and testing phases of new products, ensuring alignment with market needs and strategic goals.
• Manage the product lifecycle from conception to launch, conducting risk assessments and ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
• Stay current with industry trends and technological advancements to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
• Manage MBSE products for the development lifecycle; requires extensive MBSE knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and a minimum of 8 years of related experience, or Master’s degree in STEM with 6 years of related experience.
• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope (< 6 years).
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval.
• Experience with EVMS/CAM.
• Project management experience and experience with Agile methodology.

Nice to Have

• Master's Degree with 9 years of experience in STEM.
• Proven performance as an Engineering Leader in all phases of acquisition, design, integration, and execution.
• Ability to rapidly assess and guide projects and demonstrate mentoring to engineers.
• Working knowledge and/or experience across engineering disciplines.
• Experience with distributed command and control systems engineering implementation.
• Minimum of 3 years in a formal management position, managing one or more engineering teams.
• Strong communication, cross‑functional integration, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with ICBMs.
• Experience creating or growing new sections or departments.
• Experience managing an engineering team.
• Familiarity with Agile engineering and Jira.
• Active TS Clearance.
• Existing Sentinel Program Access.

Salary & Compensation

The primary level salary range is $166,700.00 – $250,100.00. Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and long‑term incentives for executive positions.
