Job summary

Applied Intuition, Inc. is seeking a Perception & Fusion engineer to develop sensor fusion software for autonomous vehicles across multiple domains.

You will design, integrate, and rapidly deploy sensor fusion algorithms, working with EO, IR, lidar, radar, and acoustics sensors in real-world scenarios. The role emphasizes collaboration with sensor, tracking, and autonomy teams, and involves containerized deployments on embedded Linux devices, with frequent field demonstrations and DoD testing.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering or 5+ years of sensor software experience.
• Experience with multiple sensor modalities (EO, IR, lidar, radar, acoustics, etc.).
• Experience deploying ML algorithms (Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow) onto integrated systems.
• Experience with state-of-the-art estimation, tracking, and fusion algorithms.
• Proficiency with Linux and Docker, including remote development and large datasets.
• Ability to learn new software with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and adapt AI/ML algorithms for the perception autonomy stack.
• Create interfacing software to autonomously control sensors (EO, IR, acoustics, radar, RF).
• Collaborate across sensor, tracking, and autonomy teams for deployment on DoD tests.
• Deploy containerized solutions to embedded Linux devices and collect performance data.
• Interact with DoD customers to understand use cases and requirements.
• Triages technical problems and scopes with the team.
• Document ongoing work to aid internal and external communications.
• Drive simulation tooling to playback sensors and autonomy in post-processing tests.
• Improve future integration plans based on simulations and feedback.
