Job summary

Applied Intuition is seeking a Perception & Fusion engineer to design, develop, and rapidly integrate sensor fusion algorithms across heterogeneous autonomous vehicle platforms. You will build real-time sensor software, interface sensors (EO, IR, lidar, radar, RF), and collaborate with sensor, tracking, and autonomy teams for on-site DoD testing and demonstrations.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotic Engineering, Computer Science, Optimization, or equivalent OR 5+ years of relevant experience working with sensor algorithms, hardware, and HIL software integration.
• Experience with multiple sensor modalities (EO, IR, lidar, radar, sonar, acoustics, etc.). Core understanding of sensor physics and parameters.
• Experience training and deploying ML algorithms (Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow) onto integrated systems (ONNX, C++ models).
• Experience with state-of-the-art estimation, tracking, and fusion algorithms.
• Experience working in Linux and Docker.
• Remote software development experience and ability to handle large datasets with little supervision

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and adapt AI/ML algorithms on the perception autonomy stack to collect information from platform sensors.
• Create interfacing software to autonomously control sensors (EO, IR, acoustics, radar, RF).
• Collaborate across sensor, tracking, and autonomy teams for deployment in DoD testing and demonstrations.
• Deploy containerized solutions to embedded Linux devices and collect performance data.
• Interact with DoD customers to understand use cases and triage needs during field events.
• Triaging technical problems and scoping with the team.
• Document ongoing work to provide internal and external clarity on progress.
• Drive execution of simulation tooling to playback sensors and autonomy in field tests.
• Implement improvement plans for future integration based on simulation analysis and feedback
