Job summary

RemoteLeads is seeking an experienced z/OS Systems Administrator to install, configure, and support IBM z/OS environments on a remote, long-term contract basis. You will perform upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management, using SMP/E for PTFs and CSI datasets, and develop REXX scripts to automate operations.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and collaboration with infrastructure teams, including on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

Advanced experience administering and troubleshooting IBM z/OS environments.
Extensive SMP/E usage including PTFs, APARs, HOLDDATA, SYSMODs, zones, and CSI datasets.
Experience developing REXX scripts for automation and support.
Experience administering z/OSMF and configuring its plugins.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, maintain, and support IBM z/OS and related system software.
Perform z/OS upgrades, maintenance, and lifecycle management.
Use SMP/E to manage installations, upgrades, PTFs, APARs, HOLDDATA, SYSMODs, zones, and CSI datasets.
Develop and maintain REXX scripts for administration and automation.
Administer z/OSMF including services, workflows, and plugins.
Troubleshoot complex z/OS issues and perform root-cause analysis.
Monitor system performance, availability, capacity, and health.
Collaborate with operations, storage, network, security, and database teams.
