Job summary

CTG is seeking a Mainframe Automation Engineer (z/OS System Automation) for an ongoing remote contract. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and supporting automation in a z/OS environment with NetView and Tivoli/Sys Automation.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in mainframe operations, strong REXX skills, and experience with automation migrations. Excellent communication and independent remote work capability are required.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with NetView for z/OS and System Automation for z/OS.
• Hands-on knowledge of z/OS automation, TSO/ISPF, JCL, and REXX.
• Experience with z/OS automation migration projects and PDB definitions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support mainframe automation initiatives in a z/OS environment.
• Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot automation solutions.
• Participate in automation migration projects (CA-OPSMVS to Tivoli/Sys Automation).
• Develop and troubleshoot REXX scripts and PDB definitions.
• Configure automated z/OS startup, shutdown, and recovery processes.
• Use TSO/ISPF for system administration and operations.
• Develop JCL for automation and batch processing; document configurations.
