Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field; 7+ years in infrastructure engineering; advanced knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies.
• Extensive enterprise z/OS systems programming experience.
• Advanced expertise in z/OS, SMP/E, IPLs, LPARs, HMCs, Parallel Sysplex, Coupling Facilities, and GDPS.
• Strong knowledge of performance, automation, security, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Expert-level diagnostic and production problem-resolution skills.
• Experience leading complex initiatives, major incidents, and vendor escalations.
• Ability to set technical direction and mentor engineers at all levels.
• Strong technical and executive communication skills.
• Financial services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex upgrades and incident resolution for the z/OS platform.
• Direct engineering work and establish standards for mainframe infrastructure.
• Mentor engineers and represent z/OS Engineering in cross-team discussions.
• Ensure availability, security, resilience, and long-term health of mainframe systems.
• Provide technical guidance and training to infrastructure teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate new technologies and improve standards.
• Troubleshoot complex issues affecting performance and reliability.
• Design and implement enterprise infrastructure across cloud, network, storage, and middleware domains.
• Manage large infrastructure projects aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Lead vendor escalations and critical initiatives.
