Job summary

Truist seeks an experienced z/OS System Programmer to lead mainframe upgrades, maintenance, and OEM installs. You will diagnose incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate with vendors while mentoring junior staff.

Strong knowledge of z/OS, SMP/e and IBM mainframe tooling is required. The role supports enterprise infrastructure initiatives, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives high availability through automation and robust engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies including cloud, network, database, storage, platform, computing, and middleware.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and implements enterprise infrastructure platforms across cloud, network, database, storage, platform, computing, or middleware domains.
• Applies automation, monitoring, and optimization techniques for high availability and performance.
• Manages infrastructure projects and processes per policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies.
• Troubleshoots and resolves complex infrastructure issues.
• Supports compliance with technology strategies, standards and governance.
• Reviews and guides designs, configurations, and procedures.
• Provides technical guidance to lower-level professionals.
• Develops technical solutions with deep analysis of systems.
