Job summary

Quantum Technologies. LLC seeks an experienced Mainframe Performance & Data Analyst to optimize z/OS environments. You will monitor system health, analyze performance data, and implement tuning strategies to prevent bottlenecks in large, transactional workloads.

Responsibilities include capacity forecasting, on-call incident support, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive observability and efficiency across the enterprise. Proficiency in JCL/DB2 and RMF is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, mathematics, finance or related field.
• 12+ years of mainframe systems experience with z/OS.
• Proven experience in mainframe performance monitoring and data analysis.
• Experience resolving systems performance problems in real-time via WLM adjustments.
• Proficiency in JCL and DB2.
• Proficiency in REXX/Python (plus).
• Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint for data visualization.
• Experience with mainframe monitoring tools and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Monitor real-time z/OS system health and performance using RMF, SmartIS, MICS and other tools; analyze data for trends and bottlenecks.
• Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve resource anomalies and degradation risks in production systems.
• Develop performance tuning strategies by adjusting service definitions, dispatching priorities and workload placement.
• Contribute to capacity planning by forecasting and modeling workload resource demand.
• Support cost modeling, vendor reporting, infrastructure sizing and optimization efforts.
• Collect and analyze system performance data to generate reports and dashboards.
• Identify KPIs and develop metrics to track system performance for leadership.
• Visualize, summarize and present data findings to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with operations, development and infrastructure teams; provide guidance and on-call support.
• Participate in migration of performance tools to Git change management and DevOps pipelines.
