Job summary

Quantum Technologies. LLC is seeking an experienced Mainframe DB2 DBA to join our enterprise database team in Salt Lake City.

You will ensure performance, availability, security, and reliability of IBM DB2 for z/OS environments, collaborating with application teams, QA, DevOps, offshore resources, and business stakeholders to design, administer, tune, and support large-scale production databases powering core applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 6+ years of hands-on Mainframe DB2 for z/OS administration.
• Strong expertise in DB2 utilities and performance tuning.
• Experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, and VSAM.
• Experience coordinating with offshore teams and enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain DB2 databases, tablespaces, indexes, and objects.
• Tune SQL and access paths; optimize CPU usage and response times.
• Monitor RTS, buffers, and runstats; resolve production incidents.
• Develop and maintain JCL and REXX automation scripts.
• Support DR, backups, recovery, and disaster readiness.
• Collaborate with architects, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders.
