Job summary

Diné Development Corporation is seeking a Sr. z/OS 3rd Party Software Support Technician to plan, implement, sustain, and provide guidance for IBM System z/OS third‑party software, utilities, upgrades, and maintenance.

The role supports mission‑critical IBM mainframe environments and requires expertise in installation, troubleshooting, performance support, and systems integration within a parallel sysplex. Fielding both independent and team work, the candidate will ensure security, compliance,

Qualifications

7–10 years of relevant experience in z/OS environments.
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
Active security clearance (Secret) and IAT-II certification.

Responsibilities

Plan, implement, sustain and provide technical guidance for z/OS 3rd party software installations and maintenance.
Coordinate with vendor for prerequisite software levels and follow-up on issues.
Manage lifecycle of z/OS software products within a parallel sysplex.
Use IBM SMP/e to apply z/OS software and interpret SMP/e outputs.
Use IBM utilities (IEBGENER, IEBCOPY, IDCAMS) to manage data sets and libraries.
Analyze logs and traces to diagnose z/OS product abends and resolve issues.
Provide internal and external customer support on software changes, upgrades, and features.
Ensure resources and shared storage for installations are available and maintained.
Offer engineering and consulting services for running software in a parallel sysplex.
Validate compatibility with current mainframe OS before deployment.
