Job summary

Veriipro is seeking an experienced Mainframe Engineer / z/OS Systems Programmer to lead z/OS administration, upgrades, and disaster recovery efforts in a large-scale enterprise environment.

The role requires hands-on expertise with IBM Z hardware, ISV software, and performance tuning, with responsibilities spanning HMC/LPAR management, WLM tuning, and 24x7 production support. You will participate in DR planning and IPL testing and collaborate with operations to ensure system reliability.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with z/OS installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and migrations.
• Experience with IBM PTFs, APARs, SMP/E, IPLs, and system maintenance.
• Expertise with IBM Z hardware, including CPC, LPAR, HMC/SE, HCD/IOCP, IOCDS/IODF, FICON, OSA, and Coupling Facility.
• Experience with WLM, JES2, RMF, SMF, TMON, and SAS.
• Installation and support of Broadcom/CA, BMC, IBM, and Rocket Software products.
• Knowledge of OPS/MVS, System Automation, Automation Point, and ZEKE Scheduler.
• Experience with GDPS, disaster recovery, replication, and IPL/DR testing.
• Strong troubleshooting skills using system logs, SYSOUT, dumps, and diagnostic data.
• Experience supporting 24x7 production environments and on-call rotations.

Responsibilities
