Job summary

Carinity Education – Gladstone seeks a Senior Youth Worker – Student Wellbeing to lead a dedicated Youth Worker team and deliver trauma-informed, strengths-based support for young people. You will guide casework, coach staff, and build partnerships with families and community services to ensure coordinated, meaningful support.

You will champion co-regulation and wellbeing planning, oversee Individual Learning Plans through the School's Support Committee, and foster an inclusive, safe environment

Qualifications

• Diploma of Youth Work or related discipline is required.
• Experience supporting vulnerable, disengaged or marginalized youth to achieve positive outcomes.
• Strong understanding of co-regulation and trauma-informed approaches to behaviour support.
• Experience leading, supervising and mentoring Youth Workers in a complex environment.
• Experience developing and monitoring Individual Learning Plans through a structured Support Committee.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication with students, families and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee student wellbeing casework and provide guidance to the Youth Worker team.
• Coach staff in effective youth work practices and trauma-informed approaches.
• Support responses to complex behaviours and critical situations.
• Champion trauma-informed approaches across the school and learning environment.
• Build strong relationships with students, families, colleagues and community services to ensure coordinated support.
