MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) seeks a seasoned leader to manage a team of workers’ compensation claims professionals. The role combines advanced technical claims expertise with hands-on leadership to balance staff development and direct claim management.

You will guide complex and litigated files, ensure high-quality outcomes, and collaborate with attorneys, medical providers, and internal stakeholders within the Office of Risk Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or related field is required.
• 6–7 years of workers’ compensation claims handling experience with supervisory/lead experience required.
• Experience with complex or litigated claims and understanding of workers’ compensation laws.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily activities of workers' compensation adjusters and guides claim handling.
• Manages a reduced caseload of lost-time, litigated, and complex claims with investigations and reserves.
• Monitors productivity, diary management, and compliance with regulations and standards.
• Acts as escalation point for complex or high‑exposure issues and coordinates with defense counsel as needed.
• Coordinates medical treatment and return‑to‑work initiatives with stakeholders.
• Supports staff onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
• Prepares operational reports and coordinates quarterly reserve reviews with Risk, Legal, and Accounting.
• Participates in client meetings, stewardship reviews, and audits to support service quality.
