Job summary

IMT Insurance in West Des Moines, IA, is seeking a Workers' Compensation Specialist to manage a high-volume, high-complexity claims portfolio with leadership responsibilities. You will negotiate settlements, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with legal counsel, medical providers, and TPAs to ensure regulatory compliance and cost containment.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in Workers’ Compensation Claims Management, including complex/high-risk claims.
• 2–3 years handling more complex/high-stake claims.
• CWCP or ARM certifications preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, risk mgmt, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a high-volume, high-complexity caseload incl. severe injuries and litigated claims.
• Set and adjust substantial reserves for large claims with analysis of costs and settlements.
• Develop strategies to efficiently manage complex claims and reduce costs.
• Lead litigation and settlements, coordinating with legal teams.
• Mentor junior team members and provide training on advanced claims management.
• Contribute to program development and process improvements for workers’ comp.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to manage claims.
• Prepare detailed reports for management with strategic recommendations.
