BerkleyNet is seeking a Senior Claims Representative in the Manassas, VA area to investigate, evaluate, and settle workers’ compensation claims across multiple jurisdictions. The role requires handling complex claims, reserving, and coordinating medical treatment while maintaining regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of WC claims experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Investigate workers’ compensation claims by interviewing injured workers, witnesses, and policyholders to verify coverage and determine compensability and benefits due
• Calculate and set timely financial reserves and manage reserve adequacy throughout claim lifecycle
• Record and code demographics, job and accident information in the claims system and file forms with state agencies
• Issue timely payments to injured workers, providers and vendors
• Coordinate medical treatment to ensure timely rehabilitation
• Negotiate settlements within authority
• Serve as SME for Workers’ Compensation Act and regulatory compliance
• Identify and manage subrogation and recovery opportunities
• Regularly communicate claim activity and status updates to policyholders and others
• Assist with oversight and staff development, vendor management, and special projects
