Job summary

Alluvial Concepts seeks a Senior Workday Payroll Lead for a Higher Education payroll implementation. You will serve as the primary payroll SME, directing configuration, testing, validation, and reconciliation in complex academic settings.

You will guide cross-functional teams, engage with client executives, and ensure on-time go-live readiness across multiple campuses and faculty payroll structures.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Workday Payroll experience.
• 3–4 full lifecycle Workday Payroll implementations with at least 2 as a Payroll Lead.
• Strong knowledge of payroll engine design, calculations, and reconciliations.
• Experience with pass-through payroll and shadow payroll environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle Workday Payroll projects from discovery to post-production support.
• Design and configure payroll solutions including earnings, deductions, taxes, and retro processing.
• Facilitate workshops and design discussions with client stakeholders.
• Manage risks, issues, and executive-level escalations.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to client leadership and project sponsors.
