Job summary

CoStar Group is seeking a Senior Workday Payroll Analyst to join our HR Technology team in Arlington, VA. The role combines technical Workday expertise with payroll domain knowledge to configure, test, and optimize payroll processes across HCM modules.

The successful candidate will partner with Payroll and Finance, lead project workstreams, and ensure data integrity while supporting audits and system upgrades. On-site Monday-Thursday with remote Friday, competitive benefits included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Human Resources, or a related field from an accredited college/university.
• 5+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years with Workday.
• Highly proficient in configuring Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, Compensation, Security, and Reporting tools.
• Exposure to SOX compliance as it relates to the HR Technology function.
• Excellent technical aptitude and organizational skills.
• Experience leading test plans (UT/UAT) and coordinating testing activities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical SME for Workday Payroll and related modules including HCM, Time Tracking, Absence, Benefits, and Security.
• Configure and maintain payroll-related business processes, earning and deduction codes, pay groups, payroll calculations, validations, and controls.
• Support payroll processing activities, including audits, reconciliations, and issue resolution.
• Partner with Payroll and Finance teams to ensure accurate payroll calculations and downstream financial impacts.
• Lead advanced configuration including BPFs, calculated fields, and security policies.
• Own tenant health and adherence to Workday best practices.
• Coordinate regression testing, feature enablement, and deployments.
• Provide documentation for configuration, integrations, and processes.
• Lead Workday projects from requirements to implementation and change control.
