Summary:
We are looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Senior Workday Analyst to support and optimize the Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking modules within our Workday ecosystem. This role bridges technology and HR operations, enabling efficient, compliant, and user-friendly solutions that support the organization’s workforce and payroll processes. The ideal candidate brings both deep configuration expertise and a business-minded approach to solving complex challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Workday Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking functionality, including configuration, business process design, testing, and deployment.
- Partner with Payroll, HR, Time & Labor, and Finance teams to understand operational needs and deliver technology solutions that enhance process efficiency and accuracy.
- Drive system configuration and updates for evolving business needs, regulatory changes, and compliance requirements, especially in time calculation rules, pay inputs, accruals, and leave policies.
- Lead end-to-end support for payroll calendar alignment, retro processing logic, time entry validations, and absence event automation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues related to payroll calculations, time entry discrepancies, and leave tracking.
- Monitor system performance, proactively identify opportunities for automation or improvement, and deliver enhancements with measurable outcomes.
- Develop custom reports, dashboards, and analytics to provide actionable insights for leadership and compliance tracking.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and Workday support to test and deploy bi-annual releases and manage downstream impacts.
- Provide mentorship and knowledge sharing across the HRIS or People Tech teams and contribute to broader system strategy planning.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience with Workday HCM, with at least 2+ years in Payroll, Absence, or Time Tracking configuration and support.
- Proven ability to translate functional requirements into scalable and maintainable Workday solutions.
- Familiarity with pay components, gross-to-net configuration, time calculation groups, eligibility rules, and work schedules.
- Hands-on experience building and troubleshooting Workday business processes, condition rules, and integrations affecting payroll/time data.
- Strong understanding of compliance requirements around wage and hour laws, paid leave regulations, and payroll tax treatment.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently and balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience supporting Workday in a global or multi-state organization with complex payroll and time rules.
- Exposure to Workday integrations related to time clocks, payroll providers, or third-party benefits systems.
- Knowledge of Workday Prism, Extend, or advanced reporting techniques is a plus.
