Job summary

HNTB Corporation in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC) Engineer III to lead TMP development during construction and participate in design-phase TMPs for roadway projects. This role applies advanced knowledge of work zone traffic control, safety, operations, and standards to deliver comprehensive TMPs enhancing traffic flow and safety.

You will work with project managers, design staff, and construction personnel, provide technical guidance, and help integrate TMP strategies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in Engineering with 3+ years, or PhD in Engineering with 2+ years.
• PE certification is preferred.
• Experience with civil design software and transportation standards.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned work within the schedule and hours provided.
• Assist in the development of project specifications.
• Responsible for development of discipline specific engineering project elements/deliverables.
• Aids in the coordination and productivity of project team members.
• Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineering project team members.
• Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
• Performs quality control reviews of discipline-specific engineering project elements/deliverables.
• Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work within discipline.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
