Job summary

McKesson seeks a Senior Manager, WMS SW Development and Modernization to steer multiple engineering teams responsible for critical enterprise applications on IBM i (AS400) platforms. You will drive modernization, architecture, and implementation while aligning with digital transformation goals and engineering excellence.

You will lead modular RPG, API-driven design, automated testing, and AI-enabled development practices, ensuring delivery of scalable solutions and measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of software engineering experience, including 1+ year leading engineers or engineering managers.
• Experience leading modernization efforts on IBM i (AS400) platforms.
• Hands-on with RPG IV, free-form RPG, modular RPG, CL and enterprise software practices.
• Experience designing or delivering APIs or service-oriented solutions.
• Experience leading Agile software development teams and delivery programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead software engineering teams for enterprise applications on IBM i (AS400) platforms, focusing on Warehouse Management.
• Define and execute modernization strategies including modular RPG development and API enablement.
• Drive delivery with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and automated testing processes.
• Partner with stakeholders to prioritize roadmaps and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Establish engineering standards, governance, and performance metrics.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to support long-term strategy.
• Manage engineering managers and teams, including workforce planning and talent development.
• Leverage AI-assisted development to improve productivity and value.
