Job summary

Simmons Bank in Pine Bluff, AR is seeking a Senior Wire Specialist to ensure accurate and timely processing of wire transfers for all customers. You will serve as a resource for the wire team and support inquiries from employees and customers.

In a high-volume, deadline-driven environment, you will mentor Wire Specialist II staff, assist with testing, maintain reports, and ensure compliance with laws and internal policies. This role emphasizes detail and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• 4+ years' applicable experience, preferred in banking operations or customer service.

Responsibilities

• Process domestic and international wire transfer requests with proper verification of account details and authorizations.
• Open cases with wire transfer service providers as needed.
• Perform callback verifications for wires and confirm instructions and limits.
• Process foreign currency wires and handle related disclosures and reverse wire drawdowns.
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Support testing in UAT and Production and maintain test scripts.
• Maintain email parameters and departmental volume reports.
• Generate and distribute daily/monthly reports; ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Mentor Wire Specialist II team members and assist leaders with workflow supervision.
• Manage high-volume internal mailboxes and balance wire activity; respond to inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies, including training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Senior Wire Specialist plays a critical role within the Operations Team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of wire transfers for all bank customers. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to perform a wide range of operational tasks in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment. The Senior Wire Specialist serves as a resource for the wire team, assists with process verification, and provides support for inquiries from employees and customers. Additional responsibilities include handling special projects and providing backup coverage for other Wire Specialists.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Accurately process domestic and international wire transfer requests received via phone, email, or in person, ensuring proper verification of account details and authorizations
• Open cases as needed with wire transfer service providers
• Perform callback verifications for phone, email, or fax-initiated wires; confirm wire instructions and authorization limits
• Process foreign currency wires, prepare remittance disclosures, and handle reverse wire drawdown requests.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, errors, or issues related to incoming and outgoing wire transactions promptly
• Participate in core-related testing in UAT and Production. Maintain test scripts
• Maintain and update email parameters for wire transfer notifications
• Maintain departmental volume reports
• Download and distribute daily and monthly reports to BSA; maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Mentor and train Wire Specialist II team members; assist in updating procedures as processes evolve. May assist leaders in day-to-day operational supervision of workflow
• Manage high-volume internal mailboxes, balance AM and PM wire activity, and ensure timely responses to inquiries from customers and associates.
• Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies; complete required compliance training.
• Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.
