Job summary

Form Energy in Berkeley, CA is seeking an electrical harness engineer to advance the battery’s low‑voltage architecture. You will develop harness schematics, select components, draft PCBA interfaces, and collaborate with vendors and test teams on validation.

This role requires cross‑team collaboration, EMI mitigation, DFM/DFA considerations, and systems thinking across mechanical and electrical engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in appropriate engineering field.
• 7+ years in product development.
• Hands-on experience designing electro-mechanical systems and harnesses.
• Experience with 2D/3D CAD and harness design software (Zuken E3, SolidWorks, Catia, NX).
• Strong knowledge of component ratings for product certification (UL and NEC).
• Familiarity with creation of electrical schematics and system-level validation.

Responsibilities

• Define harness requirements and component selection with cross-functional teams.
• Create and maintain 2D schematics and harness drawings.
• Source materials from approved suppliers with procurement.
• Define ICDs between PCBA controllers and devices.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers on CAD routing and DFA considerations.
• Support system-level bring-up and validation.
• Communicate progress and solutions to team and management.
