Job summary

Form Energy in Berkeley, CA seeks an experienced Electrical Harness Engineer to help develop the battery’s low‑voltage architecture. You will create harness schematics, select components, and work with vendors and in‑house test teams for validation across PCBA sensors and actuators.

Relocation assistance is available. The role emphasizes cross‑team collaboration with Mechanical and Compliance engineers, DFMA considerations, and clear communication of progress and solutions throughout product

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • 7+ years in product development; energy storage or automotive experience a plus.
  • Hands-on design of electro-mechanical systems and harnesses.
  • Experience with PLM and harness design software.
  • Knowledge of component ratings (voltage, temp, IP) for product certification.
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics creation.

Responsibilities

  • Define harness requirements and component selection with cross-functional teams.
  • Create and maintain 2D schematics and harness assembly drawings.
  • Source materials from approved suppliers with procurement.
  • Define ICDs between PCBA controllers and devices (sensors/actuators).
  • Collaborate on harness CAD routing with mechanical engineers (Poka Yoke, DFA).
  • Support system-level bring-up, validation, and issue resolution.
