Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States (Maryland) seeks a senior IT professional to manage Windows administration, security governance, and AD environments. You will lead SCCM and Exchange operations while coordinating with security teams to implement patches and compliance measures.

The role requires on-call readiness, strong scripting skills, and hands-on VMware management across a mixed Windows/Linux estate. Collaboration and documentation are essential for success.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of Windows administration experience
• At least 7 years of information security management experience, including security governance, risk management, compliance, and operational security functions
• At least 5 years of experience implementing and managing Windows Active Directory and DNS environments
• At least 5 years of experience creating and managing Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
• At least 5 years of experience with Microsoft SCCM
• At least 5 years of Microsoft Exchange administration and Exchange Management Shell experience
• Experience with Windows Command Line, PowerShell, and PowerShell scripting
• Hands-on experience with IAVA management
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems, VMware, and networking technologies

Responsibilities

• Monitor test infrastructure systems, applications, and processes to identify, track, and resolve issues
• Support server, router, and firewall configuration
• Perform security management and application performance optimization
• Maintain VMware server hosts, Windows and Linux guest servers, and VDI environments
• Maintain multiple virtual server clusters
• Address system scan findings, vulnerability management patching, and Active Directory configuration issues
• Use enterprise monitoring tools to detect, assess, and respond to alerts
• Provide technical support to partner workgroups and collaborate across departments
• Manage IAVAs and system security scanning in accordance with applicable System Security Plans
• Initiate IAVA responses and security scans, complete remediation actions, deploy patches and security updates, and execute monthly scans
• Identify and resolve hardware and software problems
• Notify customers about infrastructure delays and communicate outages and status updates
• Author and maintain clear, accurate, concise documentation
• Respond to calls and emails professionally and promptly
• Plan and implement IT enhancements and support project-related work
• Respond to system administration, operations, and maintenance issues on-call when required

Job description

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must possess a TS/SCI Security Clearance with an appropriate Polygraph
• At least 7 years of Windows administration experience
• At least 7 years of information security management experience, including security governance, risk management, compliance, and operational security functions
• At least 5 years of experience implementing and managing Windows Active Directory and DNS environments
• At least 5 years of experience creating and managing Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
• At least 5 years of experience with Microsoft SCCM
• At least 5 years of Microsoft Exchange administration and Exchange Management Shell experience
• Experience with Windows Command Line, PowerShell, and PowerShell scripting
• Strong understanding of advanced security protocols, standards, and information security principles
• Experience with software and security architectures
• Hands-on experience with IAVA management
• Hands-on experience supporting users, optimizing system operations, and monitoring enterprise IT systems
• Commitment to maintenance windows and change control procedures
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems, VMware, and networking technologies including switches, routers, LANs, and cabling
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field and 12 years of prior relevant experience
• Experience documenting and supporting security accreditation and certification activities
• Experience with network security technologies, including multi-domain solutions, PKI, SSPs, and vulnerability assessments
• Experience with data center design and configuration, including rack-and-stack, power planning, and equipment placement
• Experience with VMware
• Experience using automation tools such as Ansible or SaltStack
• Experience supporting software configuration management and development environments as a System Administrator
