Job summary

Cricket Wireless LLC is seeking a Principal Windows Server Engineer to lead enterprise Windows Server administration, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management for critical business applications. You will drive automation with PowerShell/DSC/Ansible and manage AD, GPO, IIS, and virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V).

Collaboration with security, storage, and cloud teams is essential for a secure, reliable, and highly available server environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years Windows Server administration in a large enterprise.
• Experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, AD, GP, PowerShell, IIS, Failover Clustering, DNS/DHCP, and patching solutions.
• Experience supporting virtualized environments using VMware or Hyper-V.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise Windows Server environments.
• Manage server OSes including Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022.
• Perform server builds, provisioning, decommissioning, and lifecycle management.
• Maintain server standards, hardening guidelines, and procedures.
• Support physical, virtual, and cloud Windows infrastructure.
• Plan, schedule, and execute OS patching activities.
• Coordinate maintenance windows with stakeholders.
• Remediate vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.
• Lead Windows Server upgrade and migration initiatives.
• Develop migration strategies and assess impacts.
• Coordinate application validation and testing.
• Maintain upgrade roadmaps and lifecycle plans.
• Install, configure, and maintain infrastructure software agents and tools.
• Develop automated software deployment processes.
• Develop automation using PowerShell, DSC, Ansible, and IaC frameworks.
• Automate repeated tasks and create self-service capabilities.
• Monitor Windows Server performance and optimize configurations.
• Identify bottlenecks and perform root cause analysis.
• Maintain inventory and license compliance.
• Produce audit documentation and reports.
• Support security baselines and incident response.
