Job summary

Speechify is seeking a senior Windows desktop developer to define the architecture and shipping of the Windows product. You will build production-grade desktop apps using Windows App SDK, WinUI, and C#, with C++ for native components when needed.

You will collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and other stakeholders to plan features, ensure accessibility, performance, and cross-version compatibility, and own features end-to-end.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop development with Windows App SDK/WinUI and C#, XAML, and ideally C++.
• Deep understanding of Windows architecture and interop between managed and native code.
• Proven track record shipping production desktop apps with focus on reliability and performance.
• Strong experience with accessibility APIs and building inclusive software.
• Solid fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, memory management, multi-threading.
• Experience leading technical design, mentoring engineers, code reviews, and architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and C++ when needed.
• Define and enforce best-practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase.
• Drive accessibility efforts: UI Automation, focus management, keyboard navigation, screen-reader support.
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and stakeholders to shape feature planning and long-term roadmap.
• Take ownership of full lifecycle of features from conception to release and maintenance.
• Identify and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, rendering issues, and compatibility problems.
