Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Wind Technician to execute contractual obligations and perform on-site maintenance across Oklahoma Hub 2. The role involves diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components of GE wind turbine generators, with emphasis on safety and compliance.

The candidate should be able to read schematics and manuals, mentor peers, and travel within Oklahoma Hub 2 as required by the manager.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Oklahoma Hub 2.
• Experience with wind turbine troubleshooting or maintenance is emphasized.

Responsibilities

• Execute contractual obligations and customer-required daily activities with site/hub leadership.
• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment used in GE wind turbine generators.
• Read, understand, and explain schematics, drawings, manuals, procedures, and regulations.
• Follow Environmental Health and Safety processes and compliance requirements.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical turbine problems.
• Perform diagnostic analysis and generate timely resolution plans.
• Document work using computer-based service reporting procedures.
• Work with GE's remote operations center when necessary.
• Mentor peers and support site operations at Oklahoma Hub 2 as assigned.

Job description

• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment used in GE wind turbine generators
• Apply knowledge of variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines and converter parts
• Read, understand, and explain schematics, drawings, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations
• Follow Environmental Health and Safety processes, regulations, and compliance requirements
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical turbine problems
• Support all areas of site operations with minimal supervision while observing safety requirements
• Perform diagnostic analysis and generate timely resolution plans
• Document work using computer-based service reporting procedures
• Work with GE's remote operations center when necessary
• Mentor peers
• Work at all wind sites within Oklahoma Hub 2 as assigned by the manager

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a Technical Knowledge Assessment
• 4+ years of wind troubleshooting experience and 1+ year in an EHS, SQC, or Lead role, or 5+ years of wind troubleshooting experience
• Basic computer skills
• Valid driver's license, maintained throughout employment
• Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time within Oklahoma Hub 2 wind sites
• Ability to handle repetitive weight of 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb towers up to 300 feet daily
• Must meet and maintain manufacturer weight limits not exceeding 300 lbs. including required gear
• Ability and willingness to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry facilities
• Ability to prioritize work according to contract obligations
• Ability and willingness to take initiative and work without direct supervision
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts and on-call schedules
• Occasional overnight stays may be required
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field from an accredited college or university (desired)
• Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical/Electronic field (desired)
• Wind turbine experience (desired)
• Electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic experience (desired)
• Experience using hydraulic power tools (desired)
• Experience with heavy equipment for facility maintenance and working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements (desired)
