Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent I to coordinate site work across multiple large construction projects. You will lead on-site teams, supervise foremen and general foremen, and ensure schedule integrity with three-week look-ahead planning, while coordinating with engineers and project management.

Qualified candidates have 15+ years in construction, 10+ years in supervision, and the ability to travel 100% with rotation schedules.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of construction experience
• 10+ years in a supervisory role
• Experience with wind or large industrial construction projects
• Must have strong scheduling and crew management skills
• Ability to travel 100% and work rotating schedules
• Must have come up through the trades or have extensive field experience
• Sponsorships not available for this position

Responsibilities

• Overall management of construction activities and task assignments
• Interface with other departments to ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support the schedule
• Budget, forecast, and manage craft labor, equipment, and materials with the Project Manager
• Review construction documents for completeness and constructability
• Create, review and update project schedule and three weeks look ahead scheduling
• Coordinate plans with engineers and resolve discrepancies
• Develop site utilization plan and establish crew sizes
• Conduct pre-construction planning sessions and site meetings
• Supervise on-site work crews and provide coaching
• Establish teamwork environment and provide resources and support
• Provide work direction and performance evaluations
• Identify hiring needs and participate in hiring and performance decisions
• Implement Mortenson's safety program on site
• Manage union issues and open shop logistics
• Maintain relationships with customers, architects, and subcontractors
• Drive continuous site logistics improvements
• Additional duties as assigned
